At Imagine School at St. Petersburg, it is our mission to assist parents and guardians in educating their children, through a challenging program of study and strong character development within a nurturing and orderly learning environment.
Imagine school at St. Petersburg is a K-6 charter school, currently seeking dynamic and experienced teachers to join our fast growing school. This new K-6 charter school will utilize Project CHILD to deliver a top quality education to local students.
Imagine School at St. Petersburg is currently accepting applications for elementary and middle school teachers. All applicants must be certified to teach in the State of Florida.
Positions available also include in ESE teacher (part-time), Title I Reading Coach, Title I Math and Science Coach, and Title I Hourly.
Applicants must be "highly qualified" and certified by the state of Florida Specialists in reading, math, writing, special education and teachers with Project CHILD experience are encouraged to apply.
Imagine School at St. Petersburg is part of Imagine Schools, Inc. a non-profit organization based in Arlington, Va.,which currently operates more than 55 schools nationwide in conjunction with local boards.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of this position is to provide professional instruction and teaching to a diverse population of students as appropriate. The applicant will adhere to established standards regarding curriculum delivery, participate in the Project CHILD delivery model and practice the shared values of Imagine Schools.
- Organizes and effectively communicated class/course objectives, standards and requirements for successful achievement, e.g.,syllabi, tests, specific tasks.
- Provides guidance and assistance to students as needed in order to ensure appropriate assimilation of the class/course content in an effort to support student success and achievement.
- Ensures all appropriate measures are in effect for special needs students.
- Administers tests and conducts evaluation and grading as applicable to the students’ specific assignments.
- Calculates student scores and grades and submits students’ final class/course grade(s).
- Identifies and determines appropriate course of action necessary for the resolution of students’ academic issues and concerns.
- Refers advanced disciplinary issues to appropriate staff/personnel. Performs related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Motivate the student by developing a positive relationship.
- Conveys information to students by using language concepts, examples, demonstrations,and teaching aids, such as audiovisual equipment and computers.
- Completes educational requirements by scheduling and assigning instructional activities;following up on results.
- Assess student learning by preparing, administering, and scoring testes; reviewing and correcting assignments; eliciting student questions and responses; evaluating application of learning to classroom project results.
- Maintains student learning results by providing instructional feedback; coaching,counseling and disciplining students; planning, monitoring and appraising learning results.
- Communicates with parents, staff and community as appropriate.
- Use various teaching techniques, approaches and tools to keep student interested and motivated.
- Accomplish academic goals using curriculum and supplemental materials.
- Remains an active team member in Project CHILD cluster.

- Must possess and maintain current Florida Teaching Certification, and all necessary academic certifications for the discipline being delivered.
- "Highly Qualified" per NCLB regulations.
- Must enjoy working with children.
